Ask your AI to run Gate

Gate admins get eight extra tools in their own AI client (Claude Desktop, Open WebUI, Cursor, or any MCP client): "run the health check and tell me what to fix first", "why was lchen denied this morning?", "what would msmith's AI get?", "draft guardrails from the last 30 days". Everything is read-only. The AI can explain and draft; it can never change Gate.

Set it up

Connect your AI client to Gate as yourself (an admin): Connect an AI → personal token, or the company Open WebUI connection.
Learning mode: the tools work at once. Enforced guardrails: add this rule in Guardrails, then save.

The tools

gate__health_check	Run every check above and say what to fix first, with these help links.
gate__test_person	The same chain for one person: account, live AD, groups, tools, each mapped drive.
gate__check_access	What Gate would decide if this person's AI called this tool, and which rule decides.
gate__explain_call	One audit row in plain words, and what to change if it should have gone the other way.
gate__search_audit	Search the trail by person, decision and text (at most 50 rows, without results).
gate__current_rules	The guardrails in force, or learning mode / dry run.
gate__draft_rules	Draft guardrails from what the trail actually saw. Returned as a draft; never saved.
gate__license_status	Seats used and paid, dates and warnings.

Why it is safe

Admins only. Gate checks the role itself, so even a careless "allow everyone to read everything" rule never shows these tools to anyone else.
Read-only. Drafted rules come back as text; you review and save them in Guardrails (locked rules still need your authenticator code).
Same path as every AI call. Your rules decide, the data filter runs, and every call is in the audit trail and your SIEM.
Works when AI calls are paused for the license, because it is the console in another form and the console always keeps working.
