License & billing

Acutis Gate is $5 per person per month, every edition, with a 14-day trial. The trial needs a card, and you can cancel any time before it ends.

What counts as a seat

A seat is an active person in Gate's scope: the Active Directory group you chose under Who gets Gate at connect time, plus any local accounts. You control the count by managing that group.

Hosted

Under License, press Subscribe, choose the number of people, and finish the checkout.

• Change seats applies at once; Stripe prorates the change on the next monthly invoice.
• Manage billing is where your card, invoices and cancelling live.

Windows Server, Linux and Mac

On-prem Gates run on a license file, billed annually.

1. Sign in at app.acutisgo.com/gate and open License.
2. Under Buy seats, enter your organization (it is printed on the license) and the number of people, then Continue to payment. Or start the trial.
3. Download the license file under Licenses for your on-prem Gates.
4. Give it to the installer (--license or -LicenseFile), or load it later on your Gate under License → Load a license (choose the file or paste its text).

Gate checks Acutis' signature on your own server. Nothing is sent anywhere, so it works without internet access. When you change seats, the license is reissued automatically; download it again and load it.

When you go over, or a license runs out

Situation	What happens
More people than seats	Gate warns at once. After 30 days over, the newest people beyond the count are refused until you add seats.
Close to expiry	Gate warns 30 days ahead.
Expired	Everything keeps working for a 10-day grace.
Past the grace	AI tool calls pause. Sign-in, the console, and the audit trail keep working, and nothing is deleted.

The admin helper tools keep working even when AI calls are paused, so your AI can still help you sort out the license.
